Adding Categories

Click on the Categories tab in the menu. This screen allows you to add, edit, and delete categories in your blog.

Add a category called general to your blog. Type general in the Category Name field. You may also give categories a more "friendly" description. You can describe the category in the Category Description field.

Click on the Add Category button. blojsom will now create the category and, if successful, come back with a message indicating the new category has been created.

Adding Sub-Categories

blojsom also supports sub-categories, or hierarchical categories. Hierarchical categories from a tree-like structure allowing you to create general to very specific categories on any number of topics. To create a sub-category, follow the same steps as in adding a category. Select an appropriate parent category. For example, create a photos category under the general category.

Notice in your blog that the photos category has been created under the general category.

Editing Categories

You may edit the description of a category, but you cannot rename a category. That capability will be added to blojsom in a future version of the software.

Deleting Categories

Click on the name of a category and click on the Delete Category button to delete it.

Deleting A Category If you delete a category from your blog, it will delete all sub-categories under that category as well as all blog posts in that category and any sub-categories. This operation cannot be undone.
